The Child Trust Funds (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2006

Coming into force
The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 3(5) and (10), 16 and 28(1) to (4) of the Child Trust Funds Act 20041, make the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement1
These Regulations may be cited as the Child Trust Funds (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2006 and shall come into force on 31st October 2006.
Amendment of the Child Trust Funds Regulations 2004

The Child Trust Funds Regulations 20042 are amended as follows.

In regulation 33(3) after sub-paragraph (e) insert—
ea
the full name and address of the child’s mother, if known (or failing that, the same information for the child’s father, if known), unless the local authority considers the child’s situation to be particularly sensitive;

In regulation 33(4) for “five” substitute “ten”.

In regulation 33A(2)3 at the end add—
Condition 6
In England and Wales, an adoption agency or local authority has been authorised to place the child for adoption under section 19, or by a placement order under section 21, of the Adoption and Children Act 20024, or
in Northern Ireland, an Order has been made under Article 17 or 18 of the Adoption (Northern Ireland) Order 19875 to free the child for adoption.

In the Schedule, in paragraph 2(2)(ba)6, at the end add “, except where cash is held temporarily on deposit in the course of dealing in investments under the account”.
