6. In the application of those provisions of the 1983 Act referred to in section 187(1) of that Act(1) to an election of parish or community councillors or an election of the chairman of a parish or community council the following modifications shall have effect—
(a)for any reference to the proper officer of the authority there shall be substituted a reference to the returning officer, and
(b)in section 136(2)(b) of that Act(2) for the words “£2,500” there shall be substituted “£1,500”.
Section 187(1) was amended by paragraph 64 of Schedule 4 to the Representation of the People Act 1985 (c.50) and by paragraph 124 of Schedule 1 to the Electoral Administration Act 2006 (c.22).
Section 136(2) was amended by paragraph 48 of Schedule 4 to the Representation of the People Act 1985 (c.50) and by paragraph 19(4) of Schedule 18 to the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (c.41).
