The Social Security (Young Persons) Amendment Regulations 2006

Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1(2)

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 123(1)(a), (d) and (e), 124(1)(d) and (e), 135(1), 137(1) and (2)(e), (f) and (i) and 175(1) and (3) to (5) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992(1), sections 3(1)(f)(iii), 3A(1)(e)(ii), 4(5), 35(1) and 36(2) to (4) of, and paragraphs 8, 8A(1), 9C and 14 of Schedule 1 to, the Jobseekers Act 1995(2) and sections 1(5)(b), 2(3)(b), 15(3) and (6), 17(1) and (2) and 19(1) of the State Pension Credit Act 2002(3).

In accordance with section 176(1) of the Social Security Administration Act 1992(4), he has consulted with the organisations appearing to him to be representative of the authorities concerned.

The Social Security Advisory Committee has agreed that proposals in respect of these Regulations should not be referred to it(5).
