This is the ninth Commencement Order made under the Children Act 2004 (“the Act”).
It brings fully into force on 1st April 2006 sections 13 to 16 of the Act which are concerned with the establishment by each children’s services authority in England of a Local Safeguarding Children Board for their area.
Section 56 adds functions relating to Local Safeguarding Children Boards in England to the list of functions which are social services functions in the Local Authority Social Services Act 1970.
