Commencement

2.  The following provisions of the Housing Act 2004 shall come into force on 6th April 2007—

(a)in so far as they are not already in force(1), sections 53, 212 to 215 and Schedule10;

(b)section 266 in so far as it relates to the repeals in—

(i)the London Building Acts (Amendment) Act 1939(2);

(ii)the County of Merseyside Act 1980(3);

(iii)the Building Act 1984(4); and

(iv)the Leicestershire Act 1985(5).

So far as a provision of the Housing Act 2004 Act confers a power to make an order or regulations exercisable by the Secretary of State it came into force on the passing of that Act by virtue of section 270(s)(b) of the Act. Section 266 has already been brought into force partially by an earlier commencement order. (See SI 2006/1060.)
