2. Articles 3 and 4 apply in the case of a citizenship oath (or affirmation) and pledge made in Wales for the purpose of registration or naturalisation as a British citizen in accordance with section 42(1) or (2) of the British Nationality Act 1981(1).
1981 c. 61; section 42 was substituted by paragraph 1 of Schedule 1 to the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002 (c. 41). The requirement in section 42(1) and (2) to make the oath and pledge at a citizenship ceremony may be disapplied or modified under section 42(6).
