Citation, commencement, application and interpretation1.

These Regulations may be cited as the Day Care and Child Minding (Registration Fees) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2007 and come into force on 3rd September 2007.

The 2005 Regulations are amended as follows.

In regulation 3 (applications for registration)—
(a)
for “£18”, in each place where it appears, substitute “£20”;
(b)
for “£150” substitute “£155”.

In regulation 4 (periodic fees)—
(a)
for “£14”, in each place where it appears, substitute “£15”;
(b)
for “£120” substitute “£125”.
These Regulations amend the Day Care and Child Minding (Registration Fees) (England) Regulations 2005 (S.I. 2005/2301). The Regulations increase the fee for an application for registration under Part 10A of the Children Act 1989 (c.41) as a day care provider from £150 to £155 where the provider provides day care for a continuous period of at least 4 hours in a day and from £18 to £20 where the provider provides less than 4 hours of such care in a day. The fee for an application for registration as a child minder is increased from £18 to £20. The annual fee payable by registered day care providers is increased from £120 to £125 (where at least 4 hours care a day is provided) and from £14 to £15 where less than 4 hours care is provided. The annual fee payable by registered child minders is increased from £14 to £15.
