Coming into force

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers in sections 252(4) and 272(7) and (8) of the National Health Service Act 20061, makes the following Regulations:—

Citation and commencement1

These Regulations may be cited as the Patient Information Advisory Group (Establishment) (Amendment) Regulations 2007 and shall come into force on 31st August 2007.

Amendment of regulation 3 of the Patient Information Advisory Group (Establishment) Regulations 20012

In regulation 3(2) of the Patient Information Advisory Group (Establishment) Regulations 20012 (maximum period of membership of the Advisory Group) for “six years” there is substituted “nine years”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations, made under sections 252(4) and 272(7) and (8) of the National Health Service Act 2006 extend the maximum period for which a person may be a member of the Patient Information Advisory Group from six to nine years. They apply only to England and Wales.

A full regulatory impact assessment has not been prepared for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
