EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends section 9 (parking: special temporary waiting prohibitions) of the London Local Authorities Act 1995 (“the 1995 Act”).

The Transport for London (Consequential Provisions) Order 2005 (S.I. 2005/56) amended section 9 of the 1995 Act so as to transfer to Transport for London the power to make special temporary waiting prohibitions in respect of GLA roads and GLA side roads. This Order makes a further consequential amendment to section 9 by amending the definition of “special event” in section 9(8) to reflect that change.
