The Greater London Authority Act 2007 (Commencement No.1 and Appointed Day) Order 2007

The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 59(6), (7) and (9) of the Greater London Authority Act 20071, makes the following Order:
Citation and interpretation1

This Order may be cited as the Greater London Authority Act 2007 (Commencement No.1 and Appointed Day) Order 2007.

In this Order—
“the Act” means the Greater London Authority Act 2007.
Provisions coming into force on 30th October 20072
The following provisions of the Act shall come into force on 30th October 2007—
a
section 15;
b
section 16; and
c
section 57 and Schedule 2, so far as they give effect to the repeal of paragraph 15(1)(a) of Schedule 4 to the Greater London Authority Act 19992.
Appointed day for purposes of section 59(6) of the Act3
30th October 2007 is the day appointed for the purposes of section 59(6) of the Act (which provides that sections 12 to 14 have effect in relation to financial years beginning on or after an appointed day).
