The Secretary of State for Transport makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 56(1) and (2) of the Finance Act 1973(1) and by virtue of the Department of Transport (Fees) Order 1988(2).

In relation to the exercise of his powers under the Finance Act 1973 he has the consent of the Treasury.

Citation and commencement

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2007 and shall come into force on 1st April 2007.

Increases in fees

2.  In regulation 3 of the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) Regulations 1986(3) for “£311” there shall be substituted “£328” and for “£127” there shall be substituted “£134”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) Regulations 1986 so as to increase the fees for the approval of fitters or workshops for the installation or repair of recording equipment (tachographs).

The fee for the issue of an approval is increased by 5.5% from £311 to £328 and for the renewal of an approval by 5.5% from £127 to £134.
