Coming into force
The Treasury are a government department designated1 for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19722 in relation to transfers of insurance contracts other than contracts of life assurance from one insurance undertaking to another and matters relating to the transfer of contracts of life assurance from one insurance undertaking to another and to anything supplemental or incidental to those matters.
In exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972, the Treasury make the following Regulations:

These Regulations may be cited as the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Amendment of section 323) Regulations 2008 and come into force on 30th June 2008.
Amendment to section 323I22
In section 323 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 20003 (transfer schemes), for the words from “members” (where it first occurs) to the end substitute—
underwriting members of the Society or by one or more persons who have ceased to be such a member (whether before, on or after 24th December 1996)
