Coming into force

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 5(1)(a), 6(1)(a), 189(1), (4) and (5) and 191 of the Social Security Administration Act 19921, section 175(4) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 19922 and sections 1(5), 17 and 19 of the State Pension Credit Act 20023.

In accordance with sections 172(1) and 176(1) of the Social Security Administration Act 1992, the Secretary of State has referred these Regulations to the Social Security Advisory Committee and has consulted with organisations appearing to him to be representatives of the authorities concerned.
