This Order brings into force on 1st January 2009 Part 4 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008. Part 4 relates to the Health in Pregnancy Grant. This is a universal one-off payment available to expectant mothers in the U.K. from the 25th week of their pregnancy.
Health in Pregnancy Grant will be paid from 6th April 2009 for women who have an expected delivery date on or after this date. In order to phase-in the administration of claims up to this point, claims for the Grant can be made from beginning of January 2009.
This Order is the fifth Commencement Order made under the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
