The Immigration Services Commissioner (Designated Professional Body) (Fees) Order 2008

Coming into force

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the power conferred by sections 86(10) and (12) of the Immigration and Asylum Act 19991, makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Immigration Services Commissioner (Designated Professional Body) (Fees) Order 2008 and shall come into force on 21st March 2008.

The fee to be paid to the Immigration Services Commissioner by each designated professional body for the year 1st April 2007 to 31st March 2008 shall be the sum specified in the Schedule to this Order.

The fee shall be paid on or before 31st March 2008.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order specifies the fee to be paid by the designated professional bodies to the Immigration Services Commissioner (“Commissioner”) for the purpose of meeting the costs incurred by her in discharging her functions under Part V of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.

The level of the fee varies according to the designated professional body concerned. The different level of fee is designed to reflect the cost of the Commissioner’s regulatory activity referable to each particular body.

The fees specified in the Schedule to this Order reflect the referable costs incurred in the course of the Commissioner’s regulatory activity in the period 1st April 2006 to 31st March 2007.
