This Order may be cited as the Public Records (Designation of Bodies) Order 2009.

This Order comes into force on 1st September 2009.
Amendment to Schedule 1 to the Public Records Act 19582.
“Arts and Humanities Research Council.”
“Economic and Social Research Council.”
“Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.”
“Medical Research Council.”
“Natural Environment Research Council.”.
This Order amends Part 2 of the Table at the end of paragraph 3 of Schedule 1 to the Public Records Act 1958 by adding entries for—
Arts and Humanities Research Council
Economic and Social Research Council
Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council
Medical Research Council
Natural Environment Research Council.
As a result, the administrative and departmental records of each of these bodies become public records.
