These Regulations, made under section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 (c.68), replace the provisions of Part 3 of the European Public Limited-Liability Company Regulations 2004 (S.I. 2004/2326) (“the 2004 GB Regulations”). They continue the implementation in Great Britain of Council Directive 2001/86/EC (O.J. L 294,10.11.2001, p.22) supplementing the Statute for a European Company (Council Regulation 2157/2001/EC: O.J L 294, 10.11.2001, p.1) with regard to the involvement of employees. The Regulations come into force on 1st October 2009.

Citation, commencement and extent1

These Regulations may be cited as the European Public Limited-Liability Company (Employee Involvement) (Great Britain) Regulations 2009.

These Regulations come into force on 1st October 2009.

These Regulations extend to the whole of Great Britain.
