The Traffic Management (Transport for London) Permit Scheme Order 2009

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order gives effect to the Transport for London Permit Scheme.

The Transport for London Permit Scheme is designed to control the carrying out of works in specified streets in the Transport for London Road Network by imposing an obligation to obtain a permit from Transport for London before undertaking the works.

Article 3 gives effect to the permit scheme, which will come into effect on 11th January 2010. The permit scheme referred to in this article is set out in the Schedule to the Order.

Article 4 applies Part 8 of the Traffic Management Permit Scheme (England) Regulations 2007 (which makes provision for the disapplication and modification of enactments in relation to specified works in specified streets) to the specified works and specified streets within the Transport for London Permit Scheme.

A copy of the Transport for London Permit Scheme is deposited and can be inspected at the offices of Transport for London, Windsor House, 5th Floor, 42-50 Victoria Street, London SW1H 0TL and is also available to inspect on the London Councils’ website www.londoncouncils.gov.uk.
