Use of force
6.
(1)
An authorised officer may use reasonable force in the performance of the authorised officer’s functions.
(2)
Such force may be used only if:
(a)
the authorised officer or any person assisting the authorised officer is being obstructed in the performance of the authorised officer’s functions, or
(b)
it is necessary to ensure the safety of the authorised officer, any person assisting the authorised officer or any other person on board the ship.
