This Order brings into force on 25th January 2010 sections 98, 99 and 101 of the Policing and Crime Act 2009. It also gives effect to the repeals in Part 9 of Schedule 8 to that Act on that day. Section 98 enables officers to require passengers to produce their travel documents or passports and to answer questions about their journey. Section 99 ensures that criminal cash, such as the proceeds of crime, can be detected at the border. Section 101 prohibits the importation and exportation of false identity documents.
