3.  In regulation 2 (interpretation)—

(a)in paragraph (1)—

(i)after the definition of “armed forces” insert—

bank holiday” means a day to be observed as such under section 1 of, and Schedule 1 to, the Banking and Financial Dealings Act 1971(1);

candidate” means a person submitting, or seeking to submit, to an initial CPC test;;

(ii)in the definition of “test pass certificate”, at the end, add “and in relation to Northern Ireland, means the certificate referred to in regulation 37(1) of the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996(2)”;

(iii)after the definition of “third country” insert—

trainer” means a person who provides training or instruction in relation to the initial CPC test;;

(iv)after the definition of “work permit” insert—

working day” means—

(a)

in relation to Great Britain, save for the purposes of regulation 5(5B), (6ZA)(c), (6ZAD) and (6ZAE), a day other than a Saturday, Sunday, bank holiday, Christmas Day or Good Friday;

(b)

in relation to Northern Ireland, a day other than a Saturday, Sunday, bank holiday, Christmas Day or Easter Tuesday.; and

(b)in paragraph (2), at the beginning of sub-paragraph (b), insert “save for the purposes of regulation 5A(2A),”.
