The Representation of the People (Scotland) (Amendment) Regulations 2010

Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1(1)
These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 201(3) of, and rules 55(1)(f) and 57 in Schedule 1 to, the Representation of the People Act 19831 and by section 15(5) of the Representation of the People Act 19852.
The Secretary of State has consulted the Electoral Commission in accordance with section 7(1) and (2)(e) of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000.
In accordance with section 201(2) of the Representation of the People Act 19833, a draft of this instrument has been laid before and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament.
Accordingly, the Secretary of State makes the following Regulations:
Citation, commencement, savings, interpretation and extent1

These Regulations may be cited as the Representation of the People (Scotland) (Amendment) Regulations 2010 and shall come into force two days after the day on which they are made.

These Regulations shall not have effect in relation to any election for which the date of the poll specified in the notice of election issued in relation to that election is before the date on which these Regulations come into force.

These Regulations shall extend to Scotland only.
Amendment of the Representation of the People (Scotland) Regulations 2001

The Representation of the People (Scotland) Regulations 20014 are amended in accordance with regulations 3 to 6.
