EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order makes changes to the electoral arrangements for the county of Cornwall following recommendations made by the Boundary Committee for England. The area of the county remains unchanged.

The electoral changes apply in respect of local government elections to be held on and after the ordinary day of election of councillors in 2013.

Article 3 abolishes the existing electoral divisions of the county and replaces them with 122 new ones. That article, the map and the Schedule also establish the names and areas of the new electoral divisions and the number of councillors for each electoral division.

Article 4 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Bodmin and replaces them with 3 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 5 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Bude-Stratton and replaces them with 3 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 6 establishes 2 wards for the parish of Callington. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 7 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Calstock and replaces them with 5 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 8 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Camborne and replaces them with 5 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 9 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Carn Brea and replaces them with 5 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 10 establishes 2 wards for the parish of Dobwalls and Trewidland. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 11 establishes 2 wards for the parish of Egloshayle. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 12 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Falmouth and replaces them with 5 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 13 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Hayle and replaces them with 2 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 14 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Helston and replaces them with 3 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 15 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Kea and replaces them with 2 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 16 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Kenwyn and replaces them with 4 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 17 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Launceston and replaces them with 3 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 18 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Liskeard and replaces them with 3 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 19 establishes 2 wards for the parish of Looe. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 20 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Madron and replaces them with 2 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 21 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Newquay and replaces them with 7 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 22 establishes 2 wards for the parish of Penryn. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 23 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Penzance and replaces them with 6 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 24 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Perranzabuloe and replaces them with 4 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 25 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Redruth and replaces them with 3 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 26 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Saltash and replaces them with 4 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 27 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of St Agnes and replaces them with 5 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 28 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of St Austell and replaces them with 5 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 29 establishes 2 wards for the parish of St Blaise. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 30 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of St Ives and replaces them with 3 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 31 establishes 2 wards for the parish of St Kew. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 32 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of St Stephen-in-Brannel and replaces them with 3 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 33 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Treverbyn and replaces them with 5 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 34 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Truro and replaces them with 4 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 35 abolishes the existing wards of the parish of Tywardreath and Par and replaces them with 3 new ones. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.

Article 36 establishes 2 wards for the parish of Wadebridge. That article and the map also establish the names and areas of the new wards and the number of councillors for each ward.
