CHAPTER 7 E+W SPECIAL SUPPORT GRANTS FOR CURRENT SYSTEM STUDENTS

Amount of the special support grant – 2008 cohort students E+W

62.— [F1 (1) The maximum amount of special support grant available to a 2008 cohort student in respect of an academic year is [F2 £3,299].]

(5) A 2008 cohort student F5 ... who qualifies for a special support grant in respect of an academic year receives, subject to sub-paragraph (c), an amount as follows in respect of that year—

(a) where the household income is £25,000 or less, the student receives [F6 £3,299];

(b) where the household income exceeds £25,000 but does not exceed [F7 £61,047], the student receives an amount equal to where—

M is [F8 £3,299],

A is £1 for every complete [F8 £5.24] by which the household income exceeds £25,000 but does not exceed [F9 £34,722],

B is £1 for every complete [F8 £18.88] by which the household income exceeds [F9 £34,722] but does not exceed [F7 £61,047]; and

(c) where the household income exceeds [F10 £61,047], no special support grant is payable.
