16.—(1) Direction 25 (placing of road markings and signs to indicate prohibitions and restrictions on waiting, loading and unloading and parking) is amended as follows.
(2) For paragraph (1) (except the table), substitute—
“(1) Subject to paragraphs (2) and (3), a road marking shown in a diagram whose number appears in, and which is in the form (if any) specified in, an item in column (2) of the table may be placed on a road only in conjunction with, and on the same side of the road as, a sign shown in a diagram whose number appears in, and which is in the form (if any) specified in, column (3) of that item.”.
(3) In the table in paragraph (1)—
(a)in column (3) of item 11, after “when” insert “the upper panel is varied to the sign shown in diagram 650.2 or 650.3 or”;
(b)in column (3) of item 15, after “660.7,” insert “660.9,”;
(c)after item 12, insert—
“12A. | 1028.3 when varied to “CAR CLUB ONLY” or “CAR CLUB” | 660.8 |

“(3) Except for the road markings shown in diagrams 1017, 1018.1, 1019 and 1020.1, none of the road markings shown in the diagrams whose numbers appear in, and which are in the form (if any) specified in, the items in column (2) of the table may be placed in a permit parking area.”.
