Prescription Only Medicines (Human Use) Order 1997

13.—(1) The Prescription Only Medicines (Human Use) Order 1997(1) is amended as follows.

(2) In article 1(2) (interpretation), in sub-paragraph (a), in each of the following, for “Health Professions Order 2001” substitute “Health and Social Work Professions Order 2001”—

(a)the definitions of each of “registered chiropodist”, “registered dietician”, “registered occupational therapist”, “registered orthoptist”, “registered orthotist and prosthetist”, “registered paramedic”, “registered physiotherapist”, “registered radiographer” and “registered speech and language therapist”,

(b)paragraph (c) of the definition of “relevant register”, and

(c)paragraph (d) of the definition of “supplementary prescriber”.

(3) In article 13A (exemptions relating to prescriptions given by certain health professionals), in paragraph (1)(d), for “Health Professions Order 2001” substitute “Health and Social Work Professions Order 2001”.

S.I. 1997/1830. Relevant amendments to article 1 were made by S.I. 2003/696 and 1590, 2004/1189 and 1771, 2005/765 and 1507, 2006/915, 2007/289 and 2010/231. Article 13A was inserted by S.I. 2002/549 and relevant amendments made by S.I. 2003/696, 2005/765, 2005/1507 and 2006/915.
