The Greater London Authority Act 1999 (Amendment) Order 2012

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Greater London Authority Act 1999 (“the Act”).

It amends section 31 of the Act to allow the Authority to incur expenditure on providing services or facilities promoting improvements in, or protecting, public health to further one or more of the principal purposes of the Authority, and which the Authority considers appropriate for improving the health of people in Greater London(1).

An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.

For various purposes under the Act, Greater London means the London Boroughs, the City of London and the Inner and Middle Temple.
