This Order brings into force on 1st October 2012 section 15 of the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004 (c. 28). This provision amends section 3 of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 (c. 16) to increase the maximum level at which the Secretary of State may set the amount of a Penalty Notice under Chapter 1, Part 1 of that Act, from a quarter of the maximum fine payable on summary conviction in respect of a penalty offence, to one quarter of the maximum fine, plus one half of the relevant surcharge payable under section 161A of the Criminal Justice Act 2003 (c.44).
