Candidate election expenses
Power to vary provisions about candidate election expenses36.
(1)
The F1Secretary of State may by order made by statutory instrument vary any of the sums to which this article applies—
(a)
where the F1Secretary of State considers that the variation is expedient in consequence of changes in the value of money, or
(b)
in order to give effect to a recommendation of the Commission.
(2)
This article applies to any of the sums for the time being specified in—
(a)
article 31(2);
(b)
article 32(1)(a);
(c)
article 34(4);
(d)
article 35(2).
(3)
An order under paragraph (1) is subject to annulment in pursuance of a resolution of either House of Parliament.
(4)
For the purposes of section 1 of the Statutory Instruments Act 1946 M1 (definition of “Statutory Instrument”), the power to make an order which is conferred by paragraph (1) is to be taken to be conferred by an Act of Parliament.
