These Regulations may be cited as the Energy Performance of Buildings (England and Wales) Regulations 2012.

Subject to regulation 5 and any other exemptions in these Regulations, and notwithstanding section 4 of the Building Act 1984 M1, these Regulations apply to all buildings including buildings which are exempt from building regulations by virtue of that section.

These Regulations extend to England and Wales.

These Regulations shall come into force on 9th January 2013.
