Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1(1)
These Regulations are made by the Lord President of the Council in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 7B of Schedule 4 to the Representation of the People Act 20001, by section 201(3) of the Representation of the People Act 19832 and by section 7(1) of the European Parliamentary Elections Act 20023.
The Lord President of the Council has consulted the Electoral Commission about these Regulations in accordance with section 7(1) and (2)(a) and (e) of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 20004.
A draft of these Regulations has been laid before Parliament in accordance with section 201(2) of the Representation of the People Act 19835 and section 13(2) of the European Parliamentary Elections Act 2002, and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
