Amendment of the Employment Tribunals (Interest on Awards in Discrimination Cases) Regulations 1996
2. In regulation 3 of the Employment Tribunals (Interest on Awards in Discrimination Cases) Regulations 1996(1) omit paragraph (2) and insert—
“(2) Subject to paragraph (3), the rate of interest to be applied shall be, in England and Wales, the rate fixed, for the time being, by section 17 of the Judgments Act 1838(2) and, in Scotland, the rate fixed, for the time being, by section 9 of the Sheriff Courts (Scotland) Extracts Act 1892(3).”.
S.I. 1996/2803; by virtue of section 1 of the Employment Rights (Dispute Resolution) Act 1998 (c. 8) industrial tribunals were renamed employment tribunals and references to “industrial tribunal” and “industrial tribunals” in any enactment were substituted with “employment tribunal” and “employment tribunals”.
