Regulation 7 of the Care Standards Act 2000 (Registration) (England) Regulations 2010 prohibited Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills from disclosing, under section 36 of the Care Standards Act 2000, certain parts of the register in respect of a children’s home to any person other than a local authority. These Regulations amend regulation 7 with the effect that the Chief Inspector will also be required to disclose all parts of the register to the Secretary of State for Education, the chief officer of police and the office of the Children’s Commissioner if those persons request that disclosure under section 36 of the Care Standards Act 2000.
