Transitional provision: officers engaged on service outwith their force

5.  Section 97 of the 1996 Act (police officers engaged on service outside their force)(1) applies in relation to a member of a police force (within the meaning of section 101 of that Act)(2) transferred to be on temporary service to the Police Service of Scotland, on the relevant day, by the 2012 Act(3) as if such service were relevant service for the purposes of section 97 of the 1996 Act.
