Provisions coming into force on 15th September 20142

The following provisions of the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013 come into force in Northern Ireland on 15th September 2014—

a

section 1 (individual registration);

b

section 2(1) to (5) (applications for registration and verification of entitlement etc);

c

section 4 (annual canvass);

d

section 5 (invitations to register);

e

section 7 (power to amend or abolish the annual canvass);

f

section 8 (consulting Electoral Commission about proposals under section 7);

g

section 9 (piloting of changes to the annual canvass);

h

section 12 (interpretation of Part 1);

i

section 13(1) and (2) (amendments and transitional provision), so far as not already in force;

j

Schedule 1 (register of electors: alterations and removal);

k

Schedule 3 (civil penalty for failing to make application when required by registration officer);

l

Schedule 4 (amendments to do with Part 1), with the exception of—

i

paragraph 9(4)(b),

ii

paragraph 10(5), and

iii

paragraph 23, so far as it omits paragraphs 5 and 6(2) of Schedule 1 to the Electoral Administration Act 20062; and

m

Schedule 5 (transitional provision to do with Part 1), so far as not already in force.
