Coming into force
The Secretary of State is designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19721 in relation to merchant shipping 2 and the environment 3.
The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of that Act, articles 2 and 3 of the Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Air Pollution from Ships) Order 20064, article 2 of the Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Pollution)(Law of the Sea Convention) Order 19965, and section 128(5) and (6) of the Merchant Shipping Act 19956.
