Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by paragraph 12 of Schedule 2 to the Government of Wales Act 2006(1) is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order as follows:
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the National Assembly for Wales Commission (Crown Status) Order 2016.
(2) This Order comes into force on 10th March 2016.
2.—(1) The National Assembly for Wales Commission, established by section 27 of the Government of Wales Act 2006, is to be treated as a Crown body for the purposes of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 to the extent specified in this article.
(2) References to the Crown in article 3ZA(b) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975(2) are to be treated as including the National Assembly for Wales Commission.

This Order provides for the National Assembly for Wales Commission, established by section 27 of the Government of Wales Act 2006 (c. 32), to be treated as a Crown body for the purposes of Article 3ZA(b) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 so that employment by the National Assembly for Wales Commission is treated as Crown employment.
S.I. 1975/1023. Article 3ZA was inserted by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2013/1198 art.6 (May 29, 2013) and has been amended by the Control of Explosives Precursors Regulations 2014/1942 reg.17(3) (September 2, 2014).
