The Recall of MPs Act 2015 (Commencement) Regulations 2016

The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 24(3) of the Recall of MPs Act 20151 and now vested in him2.

Citation1

These Regulations may be cited as the Recall of MPs Act 2015 (Commencement) Regulations 2016.

Appointed day2

So far as it is not already in force, the Recall of MPs Act 2015 comes into force on 4th March 20163.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations bring into force the Recall of MPs Act 2015 (c. 25) (“the Act”) in so far as it is not already in force.

The Act was passed on 26th March 2015 and sections 24(1) and (2) commenced various of its provisions on that day.

Regulation 2 brings the remainder of the Act into force on 4th March 2016.

An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sector is foreseen.
