The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 272(1) of the Investigatory Powers Act 20161.

Citation1

These Regulations may be cited as the Investigatory Powers Act 2016 (Commencement No. 2 and Transitory Provision) (Amendment) Regulations 2017.

Amendment to the Investigatory Powers Act 2016 (Commencement No. 2 and Transitory Provision) Regulations 20172

In regulation 2 of the Investigatory Powers Act 2016 (Commencement No. 2 and Transitory Provision) Regulations 20172 omit paragraphs (b) and (c).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Investigatory Powers Act 2016 (Commencement No. 2 and Transitory Provision) Regulations 2017 (S.I. 2017/137 (C. 13)) to omit the provisions commencing sections 227 and 228 of the Investigatory Powers Act 2016 (c. 25). The commencement of those sections is provided for in section 272(3) of the Investigatory Powers Act 2016.
