Coming into force

The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 126(2) and 272(8)(a) of the National Health Service Act 20061.

Citation and commencement1

These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Service (Pharmaceutical and Local Pharmaceutical Services) (Amendment) Regulations 2017 and come into force on 30th August 2017.

Amendment of regulation 121 of the National Health Service (Pharmaceutical and Local Pharmaceutical Services) Regulations 20132

In regulation 121 of the National Health Service (Pharmaceutical and Local Pharmaceutical Services) Regulations 20132 (Review of these Regulations), in paragraph (3), for “31st August 2017” substitute “31st March 2018”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the National Health Service (Pharmaceutical and Local Pharmaceutical Services) Regulations 2013 (“the 2013 Regulations”). The 2013 Regulations govern the arrangements in England, under Part 7 of the National Health Service Act 2006, for the provision of pharmaceutical services and local pharmaceutical services.

Regulation 121 of the 2013 Regulations provides for reviews of the 2013 Regulations to be undertaken and for the conclusions of the reviews to be set out in reports (generally within 5 years of the preceding report). The first such report was due to be published before the end of 31st August 2017 but this deadline has been changed to 31st March 2018.
