Subject to paragraph (2), a postal operator or telecommunications operator must not make a disclosure of statistical information in respect of a reporting period until the day six months after the last day of the reporting period.

A postal operator or telecommunications operator may not make a disclosure of statistical information during the period of 18 months beginning with the day on which that operator first provided assistance—
a
to an intercepting authority in accordance with section 41(2) or 149(1) of the Act, or
b
to an implementing authority in accordance with sections 126(1) or 190(1) of the Act.
