Amendment of the Sanctions (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 U.K.

16.—(1) The Sanctions (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 M1 are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 8(2)(a) (Somalia), for the definition of competent authority substitute—

“(aa)

‘competent authority’, for the purpose of providing information in accordance with Article 9(1), means the Secretary of State or the Treasury, as the case may be;”.

(3) In regulation 9(2)(a) (Afghanistan), for the definition of competent authority substitute—

“(aa)

‘competent authority’, for the purpose of providing information in accordance with Article 8(1), means the Secretary of State or the Treasury, as the case may be;”.

(4) In regulation 10(2)(a) (Central African Republic), for the definition of competent authority substitute—

“(aa)

‘competent authority’, for the purpose of providing information in accordance with Article 11(1), means the Secretary of State or the Treasury, as the case may be;”.

(5) In regulation 11(2)(a) (Sudan), for the definition of competent authority substitute—

“(aa)

‘competent authority’ means—

(i)

for the purpose of Article 3, the Secretary of State;

(ii)

for the purpose of providing information in accordance with Article 9(1), the Secretary of State or the Treasury, as the case may be;”.
