Citation, commencement and interpretation1

These Regulations may be cited as the Electronic Identification and Trust Services for Electronic Transactions (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019.

These Regulations come into force on exit day.

In these Regulations, “the eIDAS Regulation” means Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 July 2014 on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market and repealing Directive 1999/93/EC.

Amendments of retained EU law2

In the Schedule—

a

Part 1 amends the eIDAS Regulation;

b

Part 2 amends or revokes other retained direct EU legislation;

c

Part 3 amends the agreement on the European Economic Area, so far as it applies or adapts measures amended or revoked by Part 1 or 2;

d

Part 4 amends related domestic legislation.

An amendment or revocation made by the Schedule has the same extent as the provision amended or revoked.
