The Patents Act 197716 is amended as follows.

In Schedule A1—
a
in paragraph 1, omit the definition of “Council Regulation”;
b
in paragraph 3(3), for “Article 14(3) fourth indent of the Council Regulation”, substitute “regulation 20A of the Plant Breeders’ Rights Regulations 199817”;
c
in paragraph 4, for “Article 14(3) third indent of the Council Regulation”, substitute “section 9(10) of the Plant Varieties Act 199718”.
