Amendment of regulation 2 of the PLPS Regulations

2.  In regulation 2(1) of the PLPS Regulations(1) (interpretation)—

(a)at the appropriate places insert—

“financial year” means the 12 months ending with 31st March;;

“NHS Digital directory of services” means the directory of services, maintained by the Information Centre, which is accessed by NHS urgent and emergency care services if a patient is in need of urgent assistance from a health care professional or urgent access to health care advice;; and

“NHSmail” means the secure e-mail service of that name for the sharing of patient identifiable and patient sensitive information, for which the Information Centre is responsible;; and

(b)at the appropriate place insert—

“PTP” means a pandemic treatment protocol, which is a protocol—

(a)

relating to the supply of a prescription only medicine to be used for the prevention of or as a treatment for a disease that is, or in anticipation of it being imminently, pandemic; and

(b)

approved in accordance with regulation 247 of the Human Medicines Regulations 2012(2) (exemption for supply in the event or anticipation of pandemic disease);.
