Interpretation
This section has no associated Explanatory Memorandum
2. In these Regulations—
“A1” means the road known by that name;
“carriageway”, in relation to a motorway, and “motorway” have the same meaning as in the Motorways Traffic (England and Wales) Regulations 1982();
“carriageway”, in relation to a road other than a motorway, has the same meaning as in section 329 of the Highways Act 1980();
“M1” means the motorway known by that name; and
“the specified roads” means-
(a)
that length of the M1 at junction 2 from the southbound carriageway of the M1 to the southbound carriageway of the A1 from a point 309 metres south-east of the centre of Five Ways footbridge to a point 279 metres north-west of the centre of Greenlands Lane footbridge; and
(b)
that length of the M1 at junction 2 from the northbound carriageway of the A1 to the northbound carriageway of the M1 from a point 278 metres north-west of the centre of Greenlands Lane footbridge to a point 181 metres south-east of the centre of Five Ways footbridge.
