Amendment to the Adjacent Waters Boundaries (Northern Ireland) Order 2002

2.—(1) The Adjacent Waters Boundaries (Northern Ireland) Order 2002(1) is amended as follows.

(2) In article 3(3) (the boundary of the Northern Ireland zone)—

(a) before sub-paragraph (a) insert—

“(za) follows the limit of the exclusive economic zone(2) from the co-ordinate numbered 1 in the Schedule to the co-ordinate numbered 1A in the Schedule,”;

(b) in sub-paragraph (a)—

(i) at the beginning insert “then”;

(ii) for “1” substitute “1A”.

(3) In the Schedule (which lists co-ordinates)—

(a) after point 1, insert—

“1A

53° 43′ 55.776″ N

:

05° 17′ 47.112″ W;”

(b) omit points 2 to 6.

Section 41 of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 (c. 23) provides that “exclusive economic zone” is to be read as a reference to any area designated by Order in Council under that section. The exclusive economic zone was designated by S.I. 2013/3161.
