Where, by virtue of section 11 of the Act, goods imported into the United Kingdom are subject to a quota, that quota is identified by a unique reference number as set out in column 1 of the Quota Table (“quota number”).

The quota number comprises a six-digit numerical code which uniquely identifies the quota.

A quota, as identified by the quota number, may include one or more types of goods provided that the unit of measure which establishes the quota volume is the same for each type of goods to which the quota applies.
