The Civil Liability (Information Requirements) and Risk Transformation (Amendment) Regulations 2020

Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1

The Treasury make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 11 and 12(4) of the Civil Liability Act 2018(1) and sections 284A and 428 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000(2).

In accordance with section 11 of the Civil Liability Act 2018 and section 429(2) of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, a draft of these Regulations was laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.

2000 c. 8. Section 284A was inserted by section 31 of the Bank of England and Financial Services Act 2016 (c. 14) and was amended by S.I. 2019/407. Section 429(2) was amended by paragraph 12 of Schedule 15 to the Companies Act 2006 (c. 46), section 178 of the Banking Act 2009 (c. 1), paragraph 33 of Schedule 2 to the Financial Services Act 2010 (c. 28), section 136(3) of the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 (c. 33), paragraph 12 of Schedule 3 to the Pensions Schemes Act 2015 (c. 8), and paragraph 20 of Schedule 3 to the Financial Services Act 2012 (c. 12). There are other amendments to section 429 but none are relevant here.
