A ship to which this Part applies must comply with each requirement applicable to that ship prescribed by Merchant Shipping Notice 1676 (Amendment 1).

Except for ships of Classes XI and XII, a ship to which this Part applies must comply with each provision of Part B of Chapter III that applies to it14.

For the purposes of paragraph (1), where there is a conflict between the requirements of Merchant Shipping Notice 1676 (Amendment 1) and Part B of Chapter III, the latter takes precedence.
